matures at Bing time or 1-2 days later. In taste tests it has been
rated higher than Bing in taste and firmness. Benton® is self-fertile.

Black RepublicanA firm, good quality cherry which produces medium-sized fruit with dark
reddish-black skin and flesh color. A very good pollinizer for other sweet cherry varieties.

days ahead of and is compatible with Bing. The fruit is dark red,
medium-to-large size, with medium-to-dark red flesh. It has good
firmness with moderate cracking (similar to Bing). It ripens 10-12
days before Bing.

Early Robin®
(USPP #13,951) Early Robin® is an early season,
Rainier-type cherry maturing 7-10 days ahead of Rainier. The fruit
shows other distinct characteristics, more heart-shaped appearance,
milder flavor and a Semi-freestone pit. The size is medium-to-large.
The tree is not self-fertile and requires a pollinizer. At the present
time, the variety is for testing purposes only.

Gold
A late-blooming, yellow cherry. It is an excellent polinizer, grown primarily for the processing market.
The tree is vigorous, and very productive.

(Sumnue) This new cultivar, is an early maturing,
non-self-fertile selection that ripens approximately 5 days before
Bing. The fruit is heart-shaped and slightly compressed. Fruit size
is moderately large, flesh is moderately firm and nearly as dark
as the skin, and moderately sweet. The tree is very productive and
has very good wide spreading branches.

(USPP #9622) This cherry rootstock produces a very precocious tree about 50% - 55% (in Washington) or slightly less in size compared to Mazzard. Tree shape is open and spreading with wide angles and good side branches. Fruit size and shape is good. These Gisela® rootstocks, because of their precociousness, will produce crops 2-3 years ahead of Mazzard.

Gisela® 6
(USPP #8954) This cherry rootstock produces a very precocious,
well-anchored, hardy tree that seems to do well on a wide range of soils. In Washington, tree size is 80% - 90% of Mazzard. However, in other areas it has
shown to be in the 60% - 70% range. Fruit size is good and holds up well with
the heavy cropping.

Gisela® 12
(USPP #9631) This cherry rootstock produces a very precocious
tree about 85% - 95% of Mazzard. The tree structure is open, spreading and stocky. Gisela® 12 is well anchored and does well in wide range of soil types.

This hybrid rootstock is a cross
between Mazzard and Mahaleb. Rated 20% - 25% more
dwarfing than Mahaleb. Suited to higher
density planting. Maxma®14 is compatible with most
cherry varieties and is quite precocious
